Yahoo Email Hack!
A few weeks ago, Yahoo reported that 1 BILLION user accounts were hacked back in 2013.
This comes on the heels of the disclosure that 500 million accounts were hacked back in 2014.
These two attacks are the largest known security breaches of one company’s computer network.
It has been reported that the database is being sold for $300,000 (according to the NY Times).
Incidentally, we've noticed a little tighter ship on their throttling and blocking as of late. This makes sense given that the database is being sold (and apparently to two known spammers and a possible espionage group).
This may be a good time to go through and clean out any unengaged Yahoo subscribers! (At least go back to people that haven't opened or clicked on a message in the last 12-18 months at a minimum!).
